When a successful director retires from London to rural Titswilly, the last thing she wants is to be roped in to the village production of 'Titanic'. Exciting new company Patchwork combine their trademark physical energy with absurdist comedy in this fast paced, hilarious farce.

Thoroughly enjoyable

I enjoyed the production of Titanic sinks Titswilly. My wife and I live in a small rural village and could completely relate to many of the characters so cleverly displayed...from Burt (we have his double frequenting our local pub every night!) to the two Margarets, however I could understand how some people who live under the bright lights of the city might not get these. The plot was simple and yet clever, and we felt drawn in from the begining. All three actors I felt played their characters superbly (although some characters were easier to enjoy than others) and earn a well deserved pat on the back, especially for being able to perform in such a stifling theatre! We attended your last show, and unfortunately it was so hot as to make the audience uncomfortable (as some could be complaining about outside!) but of course this has nothing to do with your performance! The final scenes when the Titanic was sinking were so well put together, and who couldn't feel a pang of sympathy when Burt went down with his ship! One can only hope there were some fish fingers there for him at the bottom! Liz (not the queen) from London was portrayed excellently and when she leaned over the sign for Harry Potter at the end showing she was fully integrated into Vilage Life, you could feel that the show was complete. In summary, the show would appeal to a certain type of audience, I could see why some would not get it, but those that do would be in for a real treat. For my wife and I, it was the gem of our week, thank you! Michael and Lilly, Cumbria
